Do you have any questions?

Our FAQ section contains the most important information about us and the digitization of buildings. We have compiled the most important questions and provided clear answers so that you can quickly find the information you need. Whether you have general questions, technical questions, or questions about working with us, you will find the answers here.

The Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) is an EU assessment tool. The SRI transparently measures a building’s level of smart capability—in other words, how well it is prepared for digital technologies to improve energy efficiency, comfort, and user-friendliness. Among other things, it assesses a building’s ability to adapt to user needs, interact with the energy system, and optimize operations through smart control.

The SRI offers a standardized assessment model for the “smartness” or “intelligence” of buildings, especially in terms of building technology. The uniform assessment methodology makes it easier to compare buildings, make informed investment decisions, and implement smart technologies in the building sector in a broad-based and targeted manner.

The SRI methodology is standardized across the EU to ensure that results are comparable. However, member states decide how and to what extent they use the SRI. The standardized methodology nevertheless enables comparable assessments and the identification of the potential of buildings within the EU and beyond. The SRI can therefore be used to derive well-founded decision-making support in the field of building digitization.

By June 30, 2027, at the latest, a Delegated Act will be adopted in the EU that will require the application of SRI for non-residential buildings with an effective heating or cooling capacity exceeding 290 kW. By June 30, 2027, at the latest, the EU will make it mandatory for SRI ratings to be implemented for certain non-residential buildings – specifically those with an HVAC capacity exceeding 290 kW. This means that, from this date onwards, such buildings will require an SRI certificate in order to officially demonstrate their “smart readiness.”

As part of our academic careers, we have already gained extensive experience in the field of building digitization. This includes projects with the public sector and projects financed by industrial companies. Particularly relevant is the unique experience we have gained during the official test phase for the introduction of SRI in the building sector in Germany, appointed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE, formerly BMWK).

Which digitization measures should you implement in which building and when? OnSite Solutions can answer these and other questions. Based on the status quo of digitization in your real estate portfolio, we derive optimization potential in the area of intelligent building technology according to individual requirements and objectives. In the form of comprehensible catalogs of measures, we bring clarity and future security to the orientation of your building portfolio.

It is generally possible to create a suitable, customized digitization strategy for any conceivable number of buildings. If you have two or more buildings in your portfolio, it makes sense to analyze your building portfolio and derive measures using OnSite Solutions, especially in terms of cost-effectiveness, because our AI-based solution always maximizes potential for you, even with the increasing complexity of larger building portfolios.
